Motorhomes come out in winter too!  In fact, they are the perfect vehicle for anyone who loves the mountains, snow and skiing. Sleeping in front of a white blanket is a real privilege that only those of us who travel with the house on our backs can enjoy. That’s why we’re talking about these motorhome parks just a stone’s throw from the slopes.

Valgrande-Pajares (Asturias)

The great variety of slopes and its modern facilities can satisfy any skier and snowboarder who is worthy of it. In all, it has a skiable area of 23 kilometres. Of these, and thanks to the investments made in recent years, 3 kilometres are completely covered with snow. Artificial snow, the construction of a new ski lift and the installation of several kilometres of windbreaks mean that the resort is very well equipped; a spectacular place, on the border between Asturias and León, where you can enjoy the mountains, the landscape and the practice of this sport.

If you want to spend the night, you can do so in a motorhome area installed in the ski resort itself, which has 12 beds and that is free of charge. The water supply is located inside the bathroom building, to protect it from low temperatures. You can also enjoy your visit to Santa Cristina de Lena, a few kilometres away, which is a World Heritage Site. GPS COORDINATES: 42.97889 / -5.77194

Asturias and Leon share this resort, which has gradually become one of the most important ski centres in Spain. With over 23 kilometres of skiable area, it has 24 ski and snowboard runs, as well as five off-piste routes and an unmarked cross-country circuit. It also has 53 artificial snow cannons, which ensure the quality and quantity of snow throughout the season. For the more adventurous, this winter resort offers the feeling of freedom of skiing off-piste. Some routes such as “Los tubos del Toneo”, “El valle del Silencio” or “Pico Agujas” are preferred by those who love this modality. From the resort, outings are organised with groups of instructors and expert staff who know the area perfectly and who will show you the beauty of the surroundings.

For overnight stays, we recommend the El Soto camper van park in Boñar, which has 13 beds and that is free. It is located in a privileged natural environment, about 30 km from the ski resort. GPS COORDINATES: 42.87278 / -5.32583
