The Skiing:
The unspoilt Maurienne valley encompasses 24 resorts and over
1600km of pistes with rustic, village-like resorts recalling the
traditional alpine scenery of the first days of skiing. A beginner’s
paradise, the Maurienne is perfect for young families yet still offers
some challenging slopes for the more advanced skier. With its friendly
atmosphere and distinctly French feel, the Maurienne appeals to those
who wish to escape from the more crowded ski areas.
The Resort
1550m – 2600m:
With the combined ski areas of the
six Sybelles resorts, St Jean d’Arves is part of France’s fourth
largest ski domain providing 300km of pistes suitable for all levels.
The village itself is overflowing with alpine charm and with its
traditional, narrow streets retains the local character which so many
resorts have lost. The quiet yet welcoming atmosphere combined with
the extensive skiing possibilities make St Jean d’Arves a difficult
resort to beat.
