The Skiing:
Grand Serre Chevalier
An impressive, large linked ski area, based mainly on characterful old
villages such as Monetiers, Grand Serre Che has even been described as
a ‘Provence in the snow’. Combining sheltered wooded runs with
open bowls, it is an intermediate paradise and a mecca for
snowboarders.
Serre Chevalier 1400m-2800m:
The most centrally located resort
in the circuit and the most lively, also called Villeneuve-la-Salle,
it boasts a modern centre with fitness facilities, pool and
horseriding, ice rink and creche. Across the road and river is the
more traditional La Salle area, with its stone houses, restaurants and
bars.
Non skiing: ice rink, swimming pool, cinema, museum, fitness centre,
bar, pub, discos, piano-bar.
