Brides-les-Bains 

The attractive old spa town of Brides les Bains was  1992 'Olympic Village' and so was home to the athletes participating in the 1992 Savoie Winter Olympics.  Therefore, it was linked by high speed gondola to Méribel on the Trois Vallées circuit; there aren't any ski lifts at village level.  Brides-les-Bains has a small town feel which contrasts markedly with the globally better-known resorts further up the mountain, including Courchevel, Europe's highest major resort Val Thorens and Les Menuires.  Brides-les-Bains also offers better value accommodation than the higher altitude resorts and is more low-key in the evenings, although as the main administrative and shopping centre for the Méribel Valley there is still plenty going on.  Encouragingly, Brides-les-Bains' prices aim at locals rather than tourists!

Brides-les-Bain's status as a spa town dates back to the last century.  The thermal resort at Thermes d'Orsi features specialists including doctors, masseurs, and dieticians who tailor individual weight loss and fitness programs, often involving a pleasurable dip in the 36º Celsius thermal pool at Salins a hydro massage and a visit to the mud bath.

Connected to Méribel by a 25 minute gondola ride. Located just before Moutiers, the entrance to the Tarentaise valley, it is ideal for self-drive or Eurostar clients.
